MINNEAPOLIS, MN (October 22, 2009) The National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) recently recognized Nils Snyder, Vice President at NAI Welsh, as a recipient of the 2009 Developing Leaders Award.

Snyder is one of sixteen commercial real estate industry professionals who were honored last week with the 2009 Developing Leaders Award. Winners were recognized at development ’09: the annual meeting for commercial real estate, which was held in Chicago, Illinois, from October 14-16. The event featured three days of education, interaction and events all tailored to help NAIOP members achieve success.

The Developing Leaders Award honors up-and-coming professionals under the age of 35 who have distinguished themselves in their profession and show great promise as future leaders of the commercial real estate industry. Winners were chosen by a selection committee comprised of NAIOP members and industry leaders. Nominees were evaluated on the following criteria: leadership, professional competency, career goals, education, NAIOP participation, community involvement, and judge’s discretion of merit.

Over the past ten years, Snyder has completed 2.2 million square feet of transactions with values approaching $500 million. He has represented high-profile Minneapolis projects including Renaissance Square, one of the oldest buildings on Nicollet Mall; 50 South Sixth, one of the newest; and 225 South Sixth, the city’s tallest and largest single office building.

Crediting former U.S. Rep Jim Ramstad as the inspiration for his work ethic and dedication to public service, Snyder works with many nonprofit organizations in the Twin Cities, including the Guthrie Theater and Project for Pride in Living.
