MINNEAPOLIS, MN (January 19, 2010) The Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors (MNCAR) named NAI Welsh Senior Associate Steve Shepherd the 2009 Rising Star of the Year.

This award recognizes an up-and-coming real estate professional who demonstrates a high level of professional conduct, has a significant level of production, has contributed to the profession, and actively participates in other business, civic and community activities.

In just under five years at NAI Welsh, Steve has exceeded MNCAR’s Rising Star requirements. In the past year he completed a number of landlord and tenant representation assignments, the most notable of which were a 15,000-square-foot deal for KDV Accounting and a 16,500-square-foot deal for the Horizon Agency.

Steve is a founding member and former chair of MNCAR’s Emerging Brokers Committee, a group of new brokers who organize and host training and educational events for other MNCAR members. He also participates in MNCAR’s Program Committee and was elected to the MNCAR Exchange Board of Directors in 2010.

Steve recently completed a Master’s of Business Administration at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin.
